Expert tips on driving traffic to a website

For over 17 years I have successfully taught my clients how to successfully drive traffic to their websites, especially my small business clients who may operate on a tight budget.

Here are my top 5 tips:

1. SEO: be sure you are using a reputable company. SEO is not a one-time thing, it is a consistent digital marketing strategy to use. Most SEO Marketers require a 6 month investment. Need SEO? Contact FOCUS.

2. Email Marketing: you don't have to spend money to get this started, you can use the FREE version of MailChimp to launch and collect emails. Be sure your website has an email sign-up widget to collect emails so you can use for email marketing to drive customers to your website when you need them to. Remind customers constantly with social media posts to sign up for your newsletter to get new deals, product updates, new products etc. If you don't have a sign-up on your website, contact FOCUS.

3. Social Media Marketing: Drive traffic daily using these free social posting tools. Have your official business hashtag, but also use the top Hashtags for your industry. Create paid Ads with IG & FB too, yes they work and you do not need a big budget, start with $5 and test out your results, good AD content and good target marketing are ideal to your AD success, not just how much you spend. If you send $100 on an AD and the content is not targeted, then it will fail. Create a social marketing calendar Monday to Sunday with strategic topic content you will post about, ie Motivational Mondays, Wednesday Night LIVES, or Giveaway Saturdays. 4. LIVEs are your friend! Some of my clients can be shy, so I tell them to work up to it or solicit someone to be the face of your LIVEs...but for those of you who do not mind being in front of a camera, try to go LIVE on Facebook, Instagram or YouTube as often as you can, at best once a week, but least  start with once a month. Always, start and end with giving viewers the link to your website and a reason for them to visit when you do LIVES, ie mention a new deal, new product/service, or other benefit that they must go to your website to see or claim.  I know, this is not for everyone, even I do not always like doing LIVEs very often myself, but they are a proven way to drive traffic to your website.

5. Google My Business Google is #1. They provide businesses a free SEO-friendly business page access called 'Google my Business' for every business to utilize and post their products, services, updates, deals and daily interactions. Every business owner should create a page for their business. For my women business owners and minority entrepreneurs , they even have these classifications so customers seeking these owned businesses can find YOU!
